How are speeding fines calculated?
Azerbaijan: under Article 328 of the Code of Administrative Offenses, 10–20 km/h over costs 10 AZN, 21–40 km/h 50 AZN, 41–60 km/h 200 AZN, and 61 km/h or more 300 AZN; less than 10 km/h over carries no fine. Georgia: under the amendment in force since 26 June 2026, up to 15 km/h over is not fined, 16–30 km/h costs 50 GEL, 31–50 km/h 100 GEL, and more than 50 km/h 300 GEL. Armenia (approximate): 1–10 km/h over costs 1,000 AMD per km/h, 11–30 km/h 20,000 AMD, 31–50 km/h 25,000 AMD, 51–80 km/h 29,000 AMD, and 81 km/h or more means losing the licence for 1 year. In Azerbaijan, more than 20 penalty points within a year can lead to a temporary licence suspension.
Example
Driving 95 km/h where the limit is 60 km/h means you are 35 km/h over. In Azerbaijan that is the 21–40 bracket — 50 AZN; in Georgia the 31–50 bracket — 100 GEL; in Armenia roughly 25,000 AMD. At 125 km/h (65 km/h over) the fine would be 300 AZN in Azerbaijan and 300 GEL in Georgia.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a fine for less than 10 km/h over?
Not in Azerbaijan. Georgia does not fine speeding of up to 15 km/h over. Armenia's code fines from 1 km/h over (1,000 AMD per km/h), but 10 km/h is deducted from camera readings for device error.
What is the speeding fine in Georgia in 2026?
Since 26 June 2026: 16–30 km/h over the limit costs 50 GEL, 31–50 km/h 100 GEL, and more than 50 km/h 300 GEL (Article 125 of Georgia's Administrative Offences Code). Up to 15 km/h over is not fined.
Where do I check and pay a fine officially?
Azerbaijan: DYP (dyp.gov.az), ASAN Pay or e-gov.az. Georgia: the Ministry of Internal Affairs site (police.ge). Armenia: the Road Police site (roadpolice.am). This calculator is informational only and is not an official site.
What are penalty points?
In Azerbaijan some violations add points on top of the fine; more than 20 points within a year can lead to a temporary licence suspension. In Georgia every driver starts with 100 points and violations deduct points.
Who receives camera fines?
In all three countries camera fines go to the vehicle's registered owner. With a rental car, the rental company usually passes the fine on to the driver.
Are the amounts accurate?
Azerbaijan amounts follow the İXM (as of July 2026) and Georgia's speeding fines follow the June 2026 law. Armenia's figures and Georgia's non-speeding fines are approximate. Laws change — always verify the final amount on the official protocol.
